New Year, Same Neighborhood
A New Year’s Day dispatch from Mochi & Boba
🐾 Boba:
So. It’s January 1st. We woke up. We stretched. We judged everyone’s resolutions from the patio.
🍡 Mochi:
Some of us also ate two day old cheese cubes from under the couch. We all grow in different ways.
🐾 Boba:
Anyway, we did our annual New Year’s walk around the neighborhood. Goldie was already out. Obviously.
🍡 Mochi:
Wearing a 2024 Goals bandana like she invented January.
🐾 Boba:
She waved at Sadie and said “New Year, New Vibes” and Sadie didn’t even slow down. Iconic.
🍡 Mochi:
Sadie had AirPods in. Not connected to anything. Just vibes and boundaries.
🐾 Boba:
Barkley said he’s giving up dairy and drama.
🍡 Mochi:
Okay well he was licking whipped cream off his paws when he said that.
🐾 Boba:
Exactly. Fake news. His resolution should be “stop lying in public.”
🍡 Mochi:
To be fair, my resolution was “don’t bark at the vacuum” and I’ve already failed. Twice.
🐾 Boba:
Mine was “be more graceful.” Then I fell off the couch trying to reach a croissant crumb.
🍡 Mochi:
So basically we’re doing amazing.
🐾 Boba:
Honestly, the only resolution I plan to keep is this: keep spilling the tea. Respectfully. Publicly. Relentlessly.
🍡 Mochi:
I’ll drink to that. Happy New Year, sidewalk squad.
